Shillong, Mar 30: Sohra Combine and Mawphlang CC booked the last available spots in the semifinals of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 after winning the third and fourth quarterfinals respectively at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.

Cricket Smit and Friends United had won the first two QFs last week.

In today’s first match, Laitkynsew Mission won the toss and chose to bat first against Sohra Combine but they were all out for 141 in 16.5 overs. Mebanrikupar Malngiang scored 43 from 29 balls but Shanborlang Kharshiing delivered a stunning bowling performance to take 5/17 in 3 overs.

In response, Sohra Combine reached 144/4 in 16 overs to win by six wickets and with 4 full overs to spare. Donkyrmen Nadon struck 47 from 27 deliveries while Pynskhem Phawa took 2/31 in 3 expensive overs. Shanborlang was named Player of the Match for his five-wicket haul.

Later, in what was the 50th match of the tournament, Laitjem CC also chose to bat after winning the toss and posted 136 in 18.4 overs. Anthony Kharwar managed 22 from 11 balls as the top scorer. For the bowling side, Janai Dohtdong bagged 4/18 in 4 overs.

Mawphlang took 17.5 overs to make 137/6 and win by four wickets with 2.1 overs in hand. Saindorlang Ripnar smashed 76 from 32 balls in a ripping innings, while Doril June Pathaw claimed 2/17 in 4 overs. Saindorlang also took 2/39 with the ball and was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.

The two semifinals will both take place on 1st April. At 8:30AM Cricket Smit will face Mawphlang and Friends United will then take on Sohra Combine at 12:05PM in the second semifinal.
