Shillong, Jun 9: Phir Kurbah Memorial had a rollicking 6-0 victory against Imson in Group A of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2026 here today.
In the same group, Lumkseh bagged a 2-0 win against bottom side Riatsamthiah. These were the last two matches of Group A. The size of the victory lifted Phir Kurbah from fourth to second place, which means that they qualified for the next stage.
At the MFA Ground, Meban Janong (34′, 45′, 61′) scored a treble in the 80-minute match. Nijestar Sunn (38′) and Elban Kurbah (40’+2) added a goal each and there was also a 33rd minute own goal.
Lumkseh, meanwhile, scored on either side of half time at the SSA Stadium thanks to Jonistar Kharpran (40’+2) and Banteinam Khonglam (51′).
Tied on points, head-to-head doesn’t separate Phir Kurbah and Lumkseh as their meeting on 2nd June ended in a 1-1 draw. Phir Kurbah have a better goal difference, however.
Meanwhile, today’s Group B contest saw Don Bosco Academy take a 3-0 win by walkover against Lumpyngngad. These were the bottom two teams in the group before today but the win, DBA’s only one, saw them jump to third based on better goal difference compared to Laitlulong (their head-to-head meeting was a goalless draw on 9th May).
