Shillong, Jul 9: Umiew Maw U Sam held off a strong challenge to win 3-2 against Lummawbah in Group B of the Super 8 stage in the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2026 here yesterday.
On two occasions Umiew Maw U Sam managed to gain the lead only for Lummawbah to draw level at the SSA Stadium. However, a last goal in stoppage time sealed the contest. Matches in the Third Division are of 80 minutes’ duration.
Umiew Maw U Sam scored through Kularskhem Mawthoh (7′), Winjestar Nongbri (45′) and Bilistar Sun (80’+2). Lummawbah’s goals were provided by Fernando Sohkhlet (40’+1) and Edelbert Sun (59′).
Over at the MFA Ground Kharang and Mawlynrei played out a 1-1 draw in the Relegation Zone’s Group B.
Donakor Mynsong (17′) scored first for Kharang before Shanbok Marboh (37′) equalised 20 minutes later for Mawlynrei.
Meanwhile, the U-20 Fourth Division’s third quarterfinal between Laitlyngkot and Sei La Sap FCC later in the day was called off due to heavy rain at the ground. It has been rescheduled for tomorrow at 4PM.
