Shillong, Jul 14: Mawpdang reached the final of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2026 by defeating Golflink 2-1 in the first semifinal at the SSA Stadium here today.
After a deadlocked first half, Marbiang Kharbhih converted a 65th minute penalty for a foul in the box to give Mawpdang the lead in the 80-minute match.
Golflink, however, had several good opportunities to score but only managed to convert one chance, through Silistine Warbah in the 73rd minute after he was given too much space on the right flank.
The match was taken to extra time and Mawpdang’s passionate fans didn’t have to wait long for what proved to be the winner, with Lamshai Jana (86′) providing it in the first half of extra time.
