Shillong, Oct 6: Malki put themselves into contention for a place in the semifinals of the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2026 by winning their last Group A match 1-0 against Mawtawar at the SSA Stadium here today.

Wilson Lyngdoh (50′) scored the only goal of the game early in the second half.

Malki are now second in the group with 7 points. They are tied with Nongkrem but it is the latter who have head-to-head advantage.

Tomorrow will decide who will qualify for the semis. A win for Nongkrem would see them and Malki go through. A draw would also result in Nongkrem and Malki going through, as Malki have head-to-head advantage over Nongthymmai. Victory for Nongthymmai, meanwhil, would see them take first place and put Nongkrem second.
