Shillong, Jul 29: Ryntih SC have signed a memorandum of understanding with top Bhutan club Transport United to partner together in the field of football, it was revealed today.
“We feel confident that through this memorandum many avenues will open for our state footballers who will get the opportunity to play in Bhutan and, likewise, for Bhutanese footballers to play here in Meghalaya and the rest of India,” Ryntih spokesperson Samran Syiem said.
The MoU was signed by the Secretaries of both clubs – Yeshey Samdrup of Transport United and Manbha Kupar Khongwir of Ryntih – and covers a wide range of areas pertaining to football, such as players and technical staff exchange programs, talent scouting and promotion, technical and academy assistance.
“This tie-up between Ryntih and Transport United hopes to become a staple for the development of the game of football for all age groups and genders alike, paving the way for many more aspiring talents of Meghalaya, North East India and the nation as a whole to achieve laurels at the highest level,” Ryntih said in a Facebook post, while their Transport United partners stated, “The MoU represents a great opportunity for both clubs to learn from each others’ experience and expertise through mutual cooperation and collaboration.”
Transport United were formed in 2001 and play in the Bhutan Premier League, the top level of football in Bhutan. They won the BPL title in 2017 and 2018, thereby giving them a spot in the AFC Cup. Their first match of the new BPL season will be on 2nd August.
