Shillong, Oct 17: The first Veteran Basketball Championship, organised by the East Khasi Hills District Basketball Association, will begin from Monday here.
The event, for those 30 and above, will be held at St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School and will run until 23rd October.
There are 15 participating teams – nine in the men’s division and six in the women’s.
In Group A of the men’s category are Iaineh SC, Eastern Range, 99 Problems, Lumshyiap United and Mawphlang. In Group B are Madanrting, Nongstoin, Nongrim Hills and Promising SC.
The women’s division has six teams divided between two groups – SYM, Sparkle and Promising SC in Group A and Splash, Jowai Ballers and Lawsohtun Marvels in Group B.
The action will begin with Iaineh versus Eastern Range at 2PM on Monday.
