Shillong, Oct 28: Tynring lifted the Shillong Sports Association’s Fourth Division trophy with a 3-2 win on penalties over Pay For Right Academy at the JN Stadium here today.

Winaldy Suting put PFR into the lead in only the sixth minute and the team looked like they would get the better of Tynring, as the latter were not as good with ball control.

However, Larry Pyntngen Kharlartang produced as good a free-kick as you will see to equalise proceedings in the 60th minute to send Tynring’s army of supporters into raptures.

The 70-minute matched ended 1-1 and extra time was unable to separate the two sides.

Penalties were thus called for, making it the third time in the last three games that a shootout was required.

PFR missed two shots and had another blocked by Tynring goalkeeper William Sohtun. Tynring also struck the post but came through 3-2.

Both teams will be seen in next season’s Third Division, having gained promotion, but Tynring got the trophy and Rs 30,000 in prize money. PFR were awarded Rs 15,000.
