Shillong, Aug 29: Umpling claimed their first three points of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2025 with a 2-1 win against Lumshyiap at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
The other match of the day finished 1-1 between Marbisu and Laitkyrhong.
Umpling had lost to Jongksha and Mawpat before today’s Group A match, while Lumshyiap had lost their only appearance to Mawpat too.
Today Ialam Kshiar (6′) and Adoni Riwan (19′) gave Umpling a 2-0 lead inside 20 minutes before Kitbok Maskut (44′) pulled one back for Lumshyiap before half time. Ialam’s goal happened to be the 50th of the Second Division this year.
Earlier, in Group B, Iateibor Kurbah (32′) scored first for Marbisu before Shngain Surong (51′) equalised for Laitkyrhong. This was the third draw in five Group B matches so far.
