73-member Meghalaya karate contingent reach Kolkata for Indian Challenger Cup

Shillong, Jul 30: The All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association (AMKA) has sent a contingent of 73 karatekas, led by Donboklang Lyngdoh, Mingson Rymbai, Greater EM Kharpuri and Pynhunlang Kharbuli, to the Indian Challenger Cup 2026, which will be held in Kolkata from 31st July to 2nd August.

In a press release today, the association wished all the karatekas the very best for the championship.

Included in the Meghalaya contingent are 27 karatekas who are undergoing training as part of the ‘Team Preparation Programme’ for the 39th National Games 2027, which Meghalaya will host.

Their participation is part of an exposure camp sanctioned by Meghalaya’s Department of Sports and Youth Affairs aimed at providing valuable competitive exposure and helping them prepare for the National Games.
