Shillong, Mar 19: Meghalaya turned in a good bowling performance, but batting let them down in a 63-run loss to Nagaland in the plate group of the U-23 Women’s One-Day League in Cuttack today.

Nagaland won the toss and chose to bat, but were dismissed for 128 in 42.2 overs. After taking nine wickets against Mizoram yesterday, Meghalaya captain Debasmita Dutta picked up another five today, finishing with 5/20 in her allotted 10 overs. Deiphibapynshngai Lyngdoh Mawnai scalped 3/21 in 10 overs, while Neelam Roy (1/14) and Daiaka Warjri (1/31) chipped in with one wicket each.

In the chase the dismissal of Razia Ahmed for 10 led to a batting collapse, with Dutta the only one able to provide resistance with an innings of 30 and Meghalaya were all out for 65 in 30.5 overs.

Meghalaya will next face Arunachal Pradesh on 23rd March in Bhubaneshwar.
