Shillong, Jun 11: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma inspected the site for an upcoming multi-sport indoor stadium in Dalmagre, near Tura, today.
He was joined on the inspection by Home Minister James Sangma and Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh, a press release said.
The planned stadium is part of the infrastructural development programme initiated by the government in preparation for the 2022 National Games.
To improve connectivity, a four-lane highway is being proposed to connect the Games site with Tura.
The CM also held a meeting with village headmen and landowners to seek their cooperation for the smooth progress of the infrastructure project.
Sangma was also accompanied by North Tura MLA Thomas A Sangma, Chief Whip Marcuise N Marak and various officials.
