Shillong, Jul 3: Lawsohtun picked up their first three points of the U-18 Shillong Premier League at the JN Stadium, Polo, today with a smashing 5-0 victory over Laban.

In the other match at Third Ground, defending champions Langsning smashed past Ryntih in a 7-0 triumph.

Lawsohtun had scored just six goals in their previous seven matches but almost doubled that today with two goals coming in the first half through Bantip Marwein (35’) and Bakerlang Wahlang (36’) before Freddy Rani (62’), Freddy Nongsiej (81’) and Pynshngain Marboh (90’) adding goals in the second half. Despite the victory Lawsohtun still occupy bottom place in the table. They now have four points with Laban one position above them with six points.

Meanwhile, Ryntih played their final match of season and it wasn’t a happy result.

Damanbha Kharthangmaw put Langsning in front in the sixth minute before Ryngkat Ryngksai (23’) and Bobystar Nongkseh (32’) made it 3-0.

This pair got their names on the scoresheet again early in the second half, with Nongkseh scoring in the 53rd minute and Ryngksai in the 56th. Ryngksai now has eight goals to his name and is the second highest goal scorer of the season.

Badaminot Nongphlang and Pynkhraw Kharbuli then scored the final two goals in the last 10 minutes of the match.
