Shillong, Oct 2: Shillong Lajong and Rangdajied United played out the fifth goalless draw of the 2019 Shillong Premier League at the JN Stadium here today.
Chances were created aplenty by both teams, but neither were sure-footed enough when it mattered the most.
It was mainly Rangdajied who had the better chances in the first half, with Ronaldkydon Lyngdoh Nonglait scuffing a couple of opportunities, while Donlad Diengdoh headed a cross over the bar in the 31st minute.
Lajong then became the team who missed out on excellent chances, twice seeing Rangdajied desperately clearing their attempts off the line.
Though disappointing for both sides, Lajong retain their hold on first place with 10 points now from five games. Rangdajied, meanwhile, have nine from five. This was their third goalless draw but they still remain the only side not to concede a goal or lose a match this season.
On Saturday Nongrim Hills are scheduled to face Nangkiew Irat at 3PM.
