Shillong, Nov 6: Nirdesh Baisoya took a record 10 wickets in a single innings for Meghalaya on the first day of their U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy match against Nagaland in Tezpur, Assam, today.

Baisoya finished with figures of 10/51 off 21 overs as Nagaland were bowled out for 113. Although none of the other bowlers took a wicket, they would not have minded as their team mate Baisoya made history.

Nagaland had won the toss and opted to bat first, but could not deal with Baisoya’s bowling.

Meghalaya then reached 109/4 at stumps. Baisoya contributed 68 runs for a superlative all-round performance.
