Shillong, Feb 19: Tata Trusts in collaboration with the Meghalaya Football Association has invited boys to take part in football trials for its Aizawl-based Centre of Excellence.
The trials will be held on 22nd February here at the JN Stadium from 12:30PM to 2PM. Boys wishing to take part should have been born in 2006 or 2007, a press release from the Meghalaya Football Association said today. Those who are shortlisted on 22nd February will be called for further trials the next day.
Tata Trusts’ Centre of Excellence in the Mizoram capital “is equipped with modern facilities and gives equal focus to academics and football. In a short period of two years the Centre has produced four players for the Indian national camp in the U-16 age group”, the press release stated. One of those players is Meghalaya lad Emboklang Nongkhlaw.
The residential programme will commence in April.
Those wishing to try out for the Centre should bring along their birth certificate (original and photocopy), and their school ID card (original and photocopy). Aadhaar is optional.
