Shillong, Feb 18: Thangsning SCC and Lumpaia Avengers CC won their respective matches on the seventh day of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 2nd District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2023 today.
In the first game, Thangsning chose to field first after winning the toss against Friends United CC, who were restricted to 112/8 in 20 overs. Bryan MacMillan Marbaniang top-scored with 27 while Khrawkupar Kharumnuid took 2/11 in 4 overs.
In reply, Thangsning chased down the target in 15.5 overs for the loss of five wickets. Badap Pura Nongkhlaw struck 39 from 38 deliveries and Kharumnuid, who was the eventual Player of the Match, 34 from 29. Wansiewdor Lyndem claimed 3/14 in a losing cause.
Later, Pumshutia CC chose to bat after winning the toss but struggled in the face of good bowling and were all out for 54 in 13.5 overs. Player of the Match Ralphy Heinrich Diengdoh scalped 3/14 and Daryll Donald Nongbri bagged 2/4.
Lumpaia Avengers lost five wickets in the chase but achieved the target in only 11.5 overs. Easterlang Iangrai top-scored with 20 while Aristerwell Suting claimed 3/15.
