Shillong, Sep 21: Meghalaya stormed to a 4-0 victory over Kendra Vidyalaya Sangathan in their second Pool G match of the U-17 girls’ Subroto Cup 2023 in New Delhi today.

The utterly dominating performance saw the Meghalaya team, represented at the national competition by Saiden Secondary School of Ri-Bhoi, score twice in either half. Meghalaya had defeated Goa 2-0 yesterday.

Daiamon Makroh (pictured left) opened Meghalaya’s account in the 17th minute following a counterattack from deep within their own half. Makroh went one-on-one with the opposition goalkeeper before scoring past her.

Imaia Shylla (right) then scored the first of her two goals, first capitalising on a mistake in clearance to double the lead in the 22nd minute before firing a shot in the first minute of the second half (31′) that clipped the goalie’s gloves before going in.

Eiladki Ksoo (centre) then completed the rout in the 52nd minute.

Meghalaya will play Uttarakhand tomorrow morning at 7AM in their last pool match.
