Shillong, Sep 22: Meghalaya romped into the quarterfinals of the U-17 girls’ Subroto Cup 2023 by winning their third and last match 11-0 against Uttarakhand in New Delhi today.

This on the back of two previous group wins, against KVS and Goa, means that Meghalaya, who are being represented in the national tournament by Saiden Secondary School of Ri-Bhoi, were by far and away the best team in Pool G.

Eiladki Ksoo, who scored in both of the other matches, produced a four-goal hat-trick today, scoring in the fifth, 14th, 42nd and 60th minutes of the hour-long match.

A treble was also scored by Iamaia Shylla (33′, 39′, 45′), while Daiamon Makroh (12′, 21′), Barikor Kurbah (30′) and Daphishisha Syngkli (52′) took care of the others.

In the last-eight stage, Meghalaya will take on the National Cadet Corps (Mizoram) on 24th September at 4PM at the Ambedkar Stadium.
