Shillong, Jan 13: Three Meghalaya girls have been selected by the All India Football Federation to attend trials for the U-16 women’s national team in Goa.
The trio are Saphapaya Lyngdoh, Bonifilla Shullai and Larihun Songthiang.
They had impressed enough in the Sub-Junior Girls’ National Football Championship to be noticed for the 20th to 22nd January trials.
Meghalaya had reached the semifinals last year, with Bonifilia and Larihun scoring several goals between them. Saphapaya, a defender, did her part too.
