Shillong, Feb 21: Laitkyrhong SC (pictured) and Lumkynsai FC won their respective matches in the 2nd Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament in Smit today.
In the second fixture of the day, Laitkyrhong stormed to a 4-0 victory over Kiewshaphrang. All four goals were scored in the first half, with the opening one being an own goal in the fifth minute. The others were scored by Learningstar Warlarpih (7′), Iohborlang Nonglyer (13′) and Mebanrikupar Rynjah (22′).
The earlier contest between Lumkynsai and 2 Tourist was goalless in regulation time. Lumkynsai then won the thrilling penalty shootout 6-5.
The second round will start from Saturday. Mihpli United will face YBSC Shella at 11AM followed by Mylliem Lum SC going up against Umphrup SC at 2PM.
