Shillong, Jun 12: Second day action was witnessed today in the District Level Subroto Mukherjee Cup in East Jaintia Hills, the matches of which are taking place at Madan Deinchynrum.
In the U-15 boys’ category, Khliehriat Presbyterian Higher Secondary School were resounding 7-1 winners against Divine Word SS. Highbornson Muksor (23′, 36′, 47′, 49′) scored four goals, while Arki Langstang (43′, 53′) and Heinidame Talang (45′) also contributed to the win. Divine Word’s lone strike was through an own goal.
Byndihati SS were 3-0 victors over Rymbai Government SS thanks to goals by Faisal Sympli (7′), Mathew Nongtdu (48′) and Jason Lapasam (60′).
Sham Sham SS won 2-1 against Little Star SS, with Postme Dkhar (12′ 37′) scoring for the winners on either side of Bankitbok Bareh’s (30’+1) goal.
The match between Musniang SS and Wapung HSS went to penalties after regulation time finished goalless. Wapung then won the tiebreaker 4-3.
The other fixture of the day saw Lotus SS blank Lumshyrmit Upper Primary School 3-0 thanks to goals by Thikbha Lyngdoh (21′, 25′) and Shanbor Dkhar (59′).
