Shillong, Sep 26: A hat-trick from Wilbert Marbaniang led Nongkrem SC to a huge 4-0 victory against Marbisu SC in Group B of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
The other match of the day, also in Group B, saw Lumshyiap slip a solitary goal past Laitlyngkot SC for a 1-0 win. Pynskhemlang Syiemlieh (40′) was the scorer in what was Lumshyiap’s first win of the season.
Later, Wilbert (18′, 21′, 57′) scored twice in a short space of time in the first half before adding his third in the second half. Jefferson Pakyntein found the back of the net in the 77th minute to make it 4-0.
Nongkrem have had a perfect start to their 2024 campaign with three wins in as many outings and they sit at the top of the table with 9 points.
