Shillong, Jun 16: Esaranaki Kharjana (pictured centre) won a silver medal for Meghalaya at the 4th KIO National Cadet-Junior & Sub-Junior Karate Championship 2025, which concluded in Dehradun yesterday.
Esaranaki took second place in the sub-junior girls 13 years -50kg individual Kumite category.
Meghalaya also bagged two bronze medals at the event through Daphishisha Shadap (pictured left) in junior girls -48kg individual Kumite and Royal Jayden Laloo (pictured right) in sub-junior boys 11 years -40kg individual Kumite.
The All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association had sent a contingent of 28 karatekas accompanied by Donboklang Lyngdoh, Edwillbert K Nongkynrih and Ester Mary Lyngdoh to Uttarakhand for the event.
The championship ran from 12th to 15th June.
In a release today, AMKA congratulated “the medal winners for their outstanding achievement and also commended all the participants for their spirited performance and dedication throughout the championship.”
