Shillong, Jun 24: Laitumkhrah and Mawlynrei each picked up back-to-back wins in the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2025 today at the SSA Stadium at First Ground here today.

Iateilang of Lamlyer, meanwhile, won their opening match of the season 2-1 against New Challenger in Group E. Laitumkhrah (in the same group) took down Mawnianglah 3-0, while Mawlynrei eclipsed Riatsamthiah 4-0 in Group F in the last match of the day.

Iateilang were the last remaining team not to have played a match this season but got their campaign off to a positive start. Riewdondor Thabah scored a brace in the 23rd and 67th minutes, on either side of a goal for New Challenger by Bisholding Lawai (43′).

Laitumkhrah and Mawnianglah both won their opening matches by big margins, so their clash today was highly anticipated. Although Mawnianglah crafted several promising chances, it was Laitumkhrah that dominated the second half and picked up three goals, taking advantage of injuries and exhaustion in their opponents’ ranks. The Laitumkhrah goals were scored by Me-u-ba-ai Sumer (64′), Emerald Sohiong (68′) and Hamlet Thabah (75′).

Mawlynrei then went one better in the last match with a four-goal margin of victory over Riatsamthiah. Again, all the goals came in the second half. The first (52′) was provided by a Riatsamthiah player as an own goal and this was followed by strikes for Ferdinand Pyngrope (53′), Elvinson Kharsahnoh (57′) and Jeffrison Warjri (78′).
