Shillong, Oct 22: Mawkhar claimed their first victory in the Shillong Sports Association First Division 2025 by pipping Pohkseh 1-0 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya Police won their fourth in a row by defeating Lawsohtun 2-0 in the evening fixture.
Mawkhar have scored one goal in each of their four games so far but have lost twice and drawn once before today. Against Pohkseh, however, Vobisterfield Marngar’s 66th minute goal proved to be the winner.
Later, MLP didn’t have it all their own way but still took down Lawsohtun via goals from Niawkorlang Kyndiah (37′) and Rapborlang Marwein (55′).
MLP and Nongkseh are currently leading the points table with 12 points each, though Nongkseh have first place due to their superior goal difference (+25 to +12). No other team has reached double figures in points yet.
