Shillong, Dec 8: Smit conceded early to Meghalaya Police but fought their way back for a 2-1 win in the last first round match of the 4th Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament in Smit today.
B Wahlang (16′) scored first for the police before Nathaniel Kharbyngar (39′, 55′) produced a brace for Smit to turn the tables on MLP.
The first quarterfinal was scheduled for 13th December but that has been postponed so as not to clash with the final of the SSA Champions Cup.
Instead, the first quarterfinal will be between Laitkor SC and Ehrngiew SC at 1PM on 15th December.
