Shillong, Jan 12: Reigning champions Laitkor qualified for the quarterfinals of the Shillong Sports Association’s Women’s Football League 2025 after they received a walkover against Umrynjah in Group A today.

We’re not sure why the game ended in a walkover but it does mean that Laitkor qualified for the quarterfinals as the top team from the group.
In the first match of the day, Lumparing blanked Mawkasiang 3-0 on the pitch with goals from Chibasal Sangma (32′), Catherine Kharkongor (69′) and Bahunlang Synrem (63′). This was Mawkasiang’s last match of their debut season in the Women’s League.
As a result, Lumparing jumped over Pay For Right Academy into first place based on goal difference. The two sides will have yet to meet and will do so on Wednesday.
In Group C, the fixture between the bottom two sides Kharang and Nongrim Hills ended in a goalless draw, the second such result this season, which gave them their first and only points of the campaign.
Tomorrow’s fixtures:
Group A, Nongthymmai vs Mawshbuit, 10:30AM
Group C, Rangdajied United vs New Challenger, 12:30PM
