Shillong, Sep 12: Laitkyrhong ended their Group B campaign in the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2025 with a 1-1 draw against Smit at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here yesterday.
Across the entire 90 minutes the two goals were produced in a window just 2 minutes wide. Ebarlestar Pyngrope (69′) struck first for Laitkyrhong before Nathaniel Kharbyngar (71′) pulled Smit level.
Laitkyrhong had already secured a Top 2 berth from the group before today but they now finished with 8 points thanks to two wins and two draws.
Smit, however, could still drop to third place but only if Marbisu secure a humongous victory against Umphyrnai when they meet in two days’ time.
Group B has seen a large number of drawn matches – six out of nine in fact.
