Shillong, Mar 21: After an enthralling final that was decided by the narrowest of margins, S10 Healthcare became the champions of Big FM’s Big Futsal Fest 2026 by beating Shillong Police 6-5 on the concluding day of the tournament here today.
Played in front of an enthusiastic and sizeable crowd, the final was a fast-paced, end-to-end contest that kept spectators on the edge of their seats from the opening whistle to the end of the game.
Shillong Police struck early with their trademark composure but S10 Healthcare responded with resilience, matching the tempo and creating several scoring opportunities. The match ebbed and flowed with both sides trading attacks in a captivating display of speed and precision.
S10 Healthcare’s consistency, teamwork and calmness under pressure proved decisive in a final that could have gone either way. Gabriel Blah and Russell C Lyngdoh Nongkynrih both scored hat-tricks for the winners.
Earlier in the day the third-place playoff saw Meghalaya Legislative Assembly overcome Meghalaya Secretariat Home Guards 1-0 via penalties.
The tournament concluded with a prize distribution ceremony in the presence of Pynthorumkhrah MLA Alexander Laloo Hek and former professional footballer Samuel Shadap. Individual awards were presented to Ivannature Nadon (Water Resources) as Best Goalkeeper, Gabriel Blah (S10 Healthcare) as Top Scorer and Water Resources as Best Disciplined Team.
The tournament was organised by Big FM in partnership with the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Škoda Auto (La I Jong Škoda), Royal Enfield and HDFC Bank.
