Shillong, Jun 11: Nongkseh United signed off in their Group D campaign with a 1-0 win against Mawphlang in the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2026 at the SSA Stadium here today.

Gerrard Dakerlang Sun (38′) provided the only goal of the game in the 80-minute match. The result meant that Nongkseh finished the preliminary stage unbeaten with four wins and a solitary draw. They are the only team not to have conceded a single goal. Meanwhile, this was Mawphlang’s first defeat of their season. However, three results were draws, which meant that they could only finish fourth in the group.
In the other results, New Challenger sunk to a 3-1 defeat to bottom side Mawshbuit at the SSA Stadium. Romario Mawrie (14′, 62′) and Aibanjop Sun (40′) scored for Mawshbuit and Dame Hajong Mawlieh (26′) for New Challenger. Mawshbuit had not scored a single goal before today let alone get a point. This win, however, did not move them up in the standings.
New Challenger would have lost second position had Pynthorbah beaten Nongpiur in the later game at the MFA Ground but this wasn’t the case. Nongpiur won 3-0 thanks to goals by Rishanskhem Langstieh (43′), Mepynsngewbha Nongsiej (78′) and Andrew Tangsong (80’+6).
New Challenger have head-to-head advantage over Nongpiur and thus retained their hold of second position and, with it, a slot in the next round.
