Shillong, Dec 7: Shillong Lajong’s three-year reign in the SPL came to an end today after the champions had to forfeit their second semifinal against Langsning.
Lajong are double-booked, with an I-League match away to East Bengal on Saturday.
Although the Reds were able to cobble together a team for Monday’s fixture versus Malki, which they won 6-5 on penalties, many of those who played are also in the I-League squad.
SLFC petitioned the SSA for a postponement of today’s game but this didn’t come through.
Langsning thus go through to the final where they’ll face Rangdajied United.
