Shillong, Sep 5: East Khasi Hills (EKH) will be represented in each of the three finals of the State Level Inter School Football Tournament for the Subroto Cup, which are to be held here tomorrow.
In the U-17 boys’ category EKH defeated Ri-Bhoi 2-0, with goals from Joshua Vanlalrinliana (23′) and Tausee Raza Khan (48′). Their opponents in the final will either be West Khasi Hills (WKH) or West Jaintia Hills (WJH), who were still playing their semifinal fixture at the time of writing this report.
In the U-17 girls’ division, EKH will face East Jaintia Hills (EJH) in the title match. EKH beat WKH 2-0 thanks to a brace from Sanfida Nongrum (25′, 31′).
In EJH’s last-four match, WJH had actually taken the lead in the 26th mintue with a goal from Darihun Lamare, but this was cancelled out in the 40th minute with a goal Dawanrimika Rymbai. Penalties were then required and EJH won this 4-3.
Finally, in the U-14 boys’ category, Sandy Kassar’s 42nd minute goal against WKH sent EJH through to the final, where they will meet EKH; the latter had won 2-0 over Ri-Bhoi with a brace from Colinsaimon Lyngdoh (10′, 42′).
The finals will commence from 8AM.
