Shillong, Jan 31: Meghalaya qualified at the top of Pool B in the 65th National School Games’ football tournament after their last group matches in Agartala today.

Today, the Meghalaya U-17 boys defeated KVS 5-1 in the morning fixture before drawing 1-1 with Bihar in the afternoon.

Badonlang Rapsang scored his second hat-trick in two days in the morning match, with Iairyngkat Kharkrang and Ieidlang Syiemlieh also getting their names on the scoresheet. Against Bihar Cannyson Kharnaior scored Meghalaya’s lone goal.

Only the top two teams from each group progress to the knockout rounds, which will begin tomorrow.
