Shillong, Oct 13: Tynring secured first place in Group B of the Shillong Sports Association’s Fourth Division by defeating Laitkroh 2-1 at Polo Ground today.
To do this Tynring had to come back from a goal down as Laitkroh took the lead in the 21st minute through J Myrthong. The eventual winners were able to do so through second half goals (in the 70-minute match) courtesy Samborlang Lawai (40′) and Arborlang Nongpluh (48′).
In the other half of the double header Madanrting and Madan SCC played out a 2-2 draw.
All four goals were scored in the second half, with Sunny Thanglian Hauzou (40′) and Fadical Pohshna (49′) putting Madanrting into a two-goal lead before Madan SCC rallied through strikes from Arban Khongsni (60′) and Steven Lyngdoh (69′).
After two rounds in Group B, Tynring have six points, ahead of Laitkroh (3), Madanrting (1) and Madan SCC (1).
The third and final round will be on 19th October.
