Shillong, Jan 5 (updated on Jan 12): Phrangki Buam begins the new year with a new club after he made the move from FC Goa to Real Kashmir.
The 22-year-old will thus make his return to the I-League. He played on loan for Mohammedan Sporting, who finished second, in 2021-22.
Although his move to Kashmir was at first thought to be another loan spell, FC Goa later announced that they had parted ways with the player by mutual consent.
Buam had returned from Mohammedan to FC Goa for the Durand Cup but the then reigning champions were unable to defend their crown. He has never been used in the Indian Super League by Goa, though he did feature for the club in the Asian Champions League.
The midfielder played seven matches (coming off the bench in each) for Mohammedan in the 2021-22 I-League.
Real Kashmir, who ended a lowly 12th out of 13 last season, are currently sitting in third position but have slipped from first place after losing their last three games.
Buam will reconnect with old Shillong Lajong team mate Samuel Lyngdoh Kynshi at the Srinagar-based club. Kynshi has been with the Snow Leopards since 2020-21.
