Shillong, Mar 15: Lamare FC won the final of the Invitation Knock Out Football Tournament 2022-23 in New Nongstoin today 1-0 over Ri-Bhoi United FC.
The title match between two sides comprising some of the best players in the state went right down to the wire before substitute Nelson Rymbai scored in the seventh minute of second half stoppage time.
The assist was provided by Donlad Diengdoh and he was named Player of the Match.
As champions, Lamare took home a whopping big cheque of Rs 7 lakh as prize money.
Local MLA Gabriel Wahlang was the chief guest on the occasion.
