Shillong, Feb 9: Mylliem SC picked up a huge 7-0 victory against Umphyrnai SC in the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2023 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
From losing their first two matches, Mylliem have now bounced back with consecutive wins and this was the largest margin of victory for any club this season so far. On the other hand, this was Umphyrnai’s third defeat, with their only win coming against bottom side Mawkhar SC.
Today, six different players got their names on the scoresheet, with Sambor Rapsang (22′, 27′) netting a brace.
Individual goals were also scored by Knapjingshai Lawai (14′), Janhameshwa Marngar (45′), Freestar Kharbangar (46′), Raphael G Basaiawmoit (76′) and Donboklang Majaw (84′).
Mylliem now have 6 points and are up to third in the standings, while Umphyrnai are sixth out of the seven teams with 3 points.
Tomorrow’s fixture will be between Lawsohtun SC and Malki SC at 2:45PM.
