Shillong, Apr 26: Mawsynram Cluster and Sohra (A) Cluster qualified for the final of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s Benjamin Diengdoh Memorial U-15 Boys Inter Cluster Cricket Tournament 2024 in Smit yesterday.
The first semifinal was a contest between Sohra (A) and Sohra (B), with the former winning by 10 wickets. The other semi saw Mawsynram defeat STCC Pongtung Cluster by nine wickets.
In the first match, Sohra (A) won the toss and chose to field first. They restricted the Sohra (B) team to 98/10 in 19.2 overs. Donborlang Lyngdoh top-scored with 20 from 18 deliveries, while Othaniel Lyngdoh Nonglait bagged 3/24 in 4 overs.
Sohra (A) had a pretty comfortable run to the finish line, knocking off the required runs in 11.2 overs without loss. Ryan Emi Swer (pictured left) missed out on a half-century, finishing on 49 from 41 balls and he was named Player of the Match.
Later, STCC Pongtung won the toss and chose to bat but never really got going and were restricted to 43/8 in 20 overs. Bansan Kynter returned remarkable figures of 4/4 in 4 overs.
Mawsynram needed just 6 overs to get to the target, losing one wicket along the way. Pynkhraw Jomati topped out with 21 from 12 deliveries and Bansan (pictured right) was named Player of the Match.
The final will take place on 1st May.
