Shillong, Nov 19: Pay For Right Football Academy is set to participate in the 18th edition of the U-11 and U-13 Bangkok International Super Cup in Thailand, scheduled from 3rd to 8th December at the National Training Centre, Nong Chok, Bangkok.
This would make PFR Football Academy as the first-ever grassroots coaching centre from Meghalaya to compete in an international grassroots event, the academy said in a release yesterday.
In addition to the tournament, the team will attend a special one day training camp with a UEFA-licensed coach from Europe, providing invaluable international exposure to the Meghalaya players.
Head coach Nylla Meri Wahlang and assistant coach Jewelson Lyngdoh expressed delight at the opportunity, describing it as a prestigious platform that will contribute to the growth of both the players and coaches. They emphasised that the event will enable local players aged 10 to 12 years to learn, develop and showcase their skills on an international platform.
The Bangkok International Super Cup will feature teams from Thailand, India, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia and Singapore.
