Shillong, Dec 10: The Women’s League 2025 of the East Jaintia Hills District Football Association began in Khliehriat yesterday.
Two contrasting matches were held on the opening day. In the first, Umshong SC and Jalyiah United SC were locked in a 0-0 draw. Later, Byndihati SC romped to a 14-0 victory against Narpuh WWSC.
Makrisha Songthiang (6′, 20′, 24′, 31′, 42′, 54′, 60′, 79′) scored eight goals, while Charlinda Nongtdu (12′, 35′, 37′) produced three and Deimonmi Lyngdoh (23′), Happily Lyngdoh (55′) and Diwakar Dkhar (77′) one each.
At the opening were several members of the EJHDFA, including its General Secretary James Sutnga, Working President Mehiwot Shadap, Tournament Secretary Embhahlang Lamurong and Member Sookini Pohplet.
