Shillong, Dec 20: Byndihati SC claimed the title of champions of the East Jaintia Hills District Football Association’s Women’s League 2025 after winning the final 4-3 on penalties against Dkhiah West SC in Khliehriat today.
The score was goalless through regular time and extra time but Byndihati came out in front in the subsequent tiebreaker.
Byndihati finished the league in top form, winning all of their matches, while Dkhiah West lost twice – they also went down to Byndihati in the group stage.
At the prize distribution ceremony Makrisha Songthiang was named Best Player and Priyanka Latam Best Goalkeeper. Both played for Byndihati.
EJHDFA Working President Mehiwot Shadap, General Secretary James Sutnga and members of the Youth Development Committee were also present on the occasion.
