Shillong, Feb 23: Young Guns CC defeated Lok Bhavan CC by four wickets in Group B of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2026, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, in Polo today.
Angkit Tamang starred with bat and ball, first taking 3/29 in 8 overs to dismiss Lok Bhavan for 169 in 32.3 overs. He then made 84 runs in the chase, which Young Guns accomplished in 32.5 overs.
Lok Bhavan were made to bat first after losing the toss and couldn’t put up a respectable total despite Asif Khan’s half-century of 54 from 62 balls. Apart from Angkit, Grish Raj Ray also troubled the Lok Bhavan bowlers with 3/41 in 7 overs.
In the chase, Angkit made his 84 (almost exactly half of his side’s runs) from 95 deliveries. Unsurprisingly, he was named Player of the Match. Lok Bhavan’s Pankaj Mandal (2/23 in 3 overs) and Bikash Singha (2/24 in 9) were the most successful bowlers in the second innings.
