Shillong, Jul 21: Pipilmoris Wanniang has cleared the Upgradation Practical Examination 2026 and has therefore been upgraded to a Category 5 football referee.
This was informed by the All India Football Federation today.
Category 5 referees and assistant referees are eligible to officiate all national-level matches.
The Meghalaya Football Association is engaged in a dedicated drive, in close collaboration with the Meghalaya government, for a comprehensive upliftment of the sport in the state, from the grassroots to senior competition, the women’s game, upskilling of match officials and the hosting of top-level football, the association said in a press release today.
In the last few months two other officials had also attained Category 5 status – referee Pynskhemhame Mawthoh and assistant referee Jespar Syiemlieh.
