Shillong, Aug 30: Wahiajer Sports Club’s 1st Veterans Cup football tournament for those 40 and above began at the Wahiajer Multi Sport Complex yesterday.
Twenty-four teams have registered for the inaugural tournament.
On the opening day, Adonai FC beat 2 Jowai Veterans 2-1. Starnijune Mawlong (15′, 28′) scored for the winners and Elad Pohshna (58′) for 2 Jowai.
The next matches will be on 5th September between Porto FC and Shynnam FC at 1PM followed by Nuksa FC against Friends 40 FC at 3PM.
