Shillong, Jun 28: The 160 teams that signed up for the Super 5 five-a-side football tournament have been whittled down to 40 as the competition moved into the third round.
Among the matches here today, the standout saw a David and Goliath battle between Sky Hawks and African United, the latter a team comprising professional footballers drawn from African countries.
The more diminutive and unfavoured Davids, however, held off the Goliaths until full time ended 0-0 and then won the game on penalties.
There was no shortage of goals in the match between Nongkyndong FC and Evergreen, however, with Robert Khongjoh of the former scoring seven goals as his team won 8-0.
