Shillong, Sep 26: The second day of the 2nd Open Futsal Tournament, organised by the Futsal Association of Meghalaya at the Laban SC Indoor Stadium, saw another round of entertaining matches on Wednesday as teams looked to make a strong challenge for qualification to the knockout rounds.
Eighteen games were held in all – four in the women’s division and 14 in the men’s.
Futsal matches are chaterised by fast movement, quick reactions and sharp thinking and this was all amply on display.
Board President XI saw double success today, with their women’s team beating KT Football Club 5-0, which was followed by the men’s side winning 2-1 over The Knight from Mawpat.
One of the most interesting games was between Pioneers FC and Touchline B. One of the members of the Touchline team was none other than I-League and Indian Super League player Samuel Shadap. Touchline B twice pulled out a one-goal lead, but Pioneers fought back on both occasions and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
