Shillong, Oct 17: Meghalaya experienced a second successive heavy defeat in the Women’s U-19 T20 League, this time to Andhra Pradesh, to whom they lost by 116 runs on the VJD method.
Andhra Pradesh won the toss in Guntur and opted to bat first and they barrelled along at nearly 10 runs an over to post a total of 198/1 in 20 overs. Dasanbaniewkor Wahlang took the only wicket for Meghalaya.
Bad weather affected Meghalaya’s chase, with only 11 overs possible. It’s just as well, really, as Meghalaya found it nigh impossible to make any runs. Absolutely nobody reached doubled figures and Meghalaya ended their shortened innings on 13/6.
Tamil Nadu will be Meghalaya’s next opponents tomorrow at the same venue.
