Shillong, Apr 2: Meghalaya got back to winning ways in the U-23 Women’s One-Day League plate group by defeating Sikkim by six wickets in Bhubaneshwar yesterday.
Sikkim won the toss and chose to bat, but were skittled for 65 in 34.1 overs. Meghalaya captain Debasmita Dutta returned excellent figures of 5/23, while Luiza Tamang (1/5) and Neelam Roy (1/8) were the other wicket takers.
Meghalaya then rode on the 48 not out made by Dutta in the chase to reach 66/4 and win the match.
Meghalaya bounced back with victory after losing to Uttarakhand, the top team in the group, by 237 runs in their previous fixture.
Meghalaya will play Manipur tomorrow in Bhubaneshwar in their penultimate match.
