Shillong, May 25: Nangkiew Irat experienced their first defeat of the U-18 Shillong Premier League 2019 today, coming at the hands of defending champions Langsning, who won 1-0 at Third Ground, Polo, here.
Rikmenlang Nongrum (pictured) scored the only goal in the 53rd minute, putting him on four goals for the season after his hat-trick against Nongkrem last week. He is the tournament’s current top scorer.
Nangkiew ended the game a man down after Sumarbha Bareh was sent off in stoppage time for a second yellow card offence.
Langsning are at the top of the standings, ahead of Rangdajied United on goal difference (+9 compared to +8). Both teams, as well as Nangkiew, have six points each, though Nangkiew have played three games compared to two for the others.
On Monday Laban are scheduled to take on Marbisu at 3:45PM.
